Bridge Meadows Location and Attractions

How to Find Us:

Donard: Turn left in the village, and follow sign for Hollywood. Bridge Meadows is 1.5 miles on the right hand side.

Dublin: Take the N81 to Blessington. Continue 12 miles south of Blessington, turn left at the "Old Tollhouse Pub" for the village of Donard. Follow Donard directions

North: from Dublin Airport, take the M1 signposted Dublin. Take the first exit (M50 southbound). Exit at junction 11 for Tallaght / Blessington (N81). Follow Dublin directions as above.

South: Make for Carlow and turn at Castledermot for Baltinglass. Continue along the N81 for 10miles. Take a left for Donard and follow Donard directions as above.

East: Make for Laragh and before Glendalough turn right onto Wicklow Gap. Continue via Hollywood village, turn left onto N81. Continue for 5 miles and take left at the "old Tollhouse pub" for the village of Donard and follow Donard directions as above.

West: From N7/M7, take Curragh exit by racecourse (signposted Kilcullen). Go straight through cross roads in Kilcullen to Dunlavin. In Dunlavin, follow signs for Donard and follow Donard instructions as above.

Bus:
Take the 65 Dublin Bus from Eden Quay, Dublin City Centre to Blessington.
You will need to pre book at taxi to bring you to Bridge Meadows from here (10km)
or
Take the Tullow Bus from Bus Aras Store Street, Dublin City centre, alight at Annaleckey Cross. You will need to pre book at taxi to bring you to Bridge Meadows from here (5km)

Horse Riding

We have a spceial connection with horse riding, stabling and the equestrian centre, which is situated nearby. We can also provide stabling and accomodation for those competing in local events and also such shows as the RDS Horse Show, as we are convienently placed within driving distance of Dublin.





Nearby Attractions include:

Convenient to Glendalough, Russborough House, Glen of Imaal. Japanese gardens, National Stud, Horse racing & Punchestown, Naas & Curragh. Local golf, horsetreking and hill walking available, with guided walks


Equestrian Facilities

The Donard/Glen of Imaal area is ideal for horse trekking and has hosted numerous ILDRA(Irish long distance riding association) rides.There is a "Donard Run" on the last Sunday of every month, where local horse enthuasists get together on their horses.

There is also a Donard Glen Equestrian Trail which you can ride through farms, forests, country roads and tracks of about 35km.

At Bridge Meadows, we can stable your horse in our farm just down the road from our B&B, provide you with a packed lunch and give you detailed local information regarding any of the tracks. If you are interested, feel free to contact us for further information.


Walking

We are situated at the west of the Wicklow mountain range, so weather you want to climb Lugnaquilla, walk the Wicklow Way or just take a stroll on many of the forestry walks that are all on our doorstep..

There is an especially lovely walk down through Hollywood Glen Road, around the back of Church mountain with spectacular views of Blessington Lakes and then through the turf bog and back to Bridge Meadows.

At Bridge Meadows, we can arrange drop off/pick ups to and from any of the walking loclations.

We would be happy to provide you with a packed lunch.
